West Indies vs Pakistan, 3rd ODI – Betting Predictions and Tips

Yet another comeback for the evergreen Shahid Afridi and yet another scintillating performance with both bat and ball in the first match from him. He came into the first match and conquered the opposition only like Shahid Afridi can. However, the flame that Shahid Afridi carries in his bat quickly fizzled out in the second match. If one talks about players not fulfilling their potential with the bat, Shahid Afridi would well figure on the top of the list. A trailblazing innings in the first game was followed by a dud. From going to a batting all-rounder to a bowling all-rounder, Afridi found himself out of the side not long ago as he failed to impress with either bat or bowl. However, his bowling skills still look intact and Pakistan will count on his clever leg spin once again to get a lead in the five match series.

Chris Gayle has failed to get going in either match and would be looking to make his mark after scoring just two run in two innings so far. However, the Pakistani spinners have found good assistance on the Caribbean pitches which means Gayle might have to hold back a little and play some smart cricket to provide the team the start they have been looking for so far in the series.

While the spinners for Pakistan on a roll, West Indies bring some spin magic of their own courtesy Sunil Narine. He would want to continue in the same vein as the last match after a forgettable outing in the first match that lasted just three overs. He still remains the trump card for West Indies along with the able assistance from Marlon Samuels, the part-time spinner. West Indies bowlers will have to step it up once again to put the Pakistani batsmen on the back foot and take a lead in the series.

Although both teams lack the experience and star players other than say a Chris Gayle and Shahid Afridi, both teams have relatively younger players and would like to get the better of opposite number. The first two matches have produced enough excitement through brilliant individual performances from players of both sides to ensure that the fans are interested for this third match of the series as well. Some players to look out for in this match are Nasir Jamshed, who is highly unpredictable and quite exciting to watch, the giant Mohammed Irfan and the master of guile Saeed Ajmal for Pakistan.

For the West Indies, there are a lot of players, especially the all-rounders that can turn the match around at any given time. Just like we saw in the last match, the Bravo brothers can play sensibly as well as attack when needed. The key though would once again lie in the spin of Narine and the performance of the new ball bowlers especially James Holder. Expect Pakistan to come back strong as they reel from the loss in the second match of the one day series as it could well be Pakistan’s match this time around.
