Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh – T20 – Betting Predictions and Tips

Bangladesh will play the only Twenty over (T20) international match against Sri Lanka on March 31, 2013, Sunday at Pallekele. This would be the last game of the Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka. The Bangladesh team has performed quite well in the tour. The 2-test match series was won by Sri Lanka 1-0 but the 3 match ODI series was leveled 1-1 with one game washed out due to rain. However, the T20 will be a different ball game and more so with new and young players being inducted in Sri Lankan squad.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka must have been not very happy with their performance in the ODI series. But the factor that may play in favor of Sri Lanka is the induction of new and young faces in the T20 team. The Sri Lankan team has names five new uncapped players for the upcoming T20 match. Shehan Jayasuriya, Chaturanga de Silva, Ramith Rambukwella, Ishan Jayaratne and Angelo Perera are the players. However, Sri Lanka will miss the aggression and experience of Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan who are both in form players. Mahela Jayawardene has also not been picked and so Dinesh Chandimal will make the debut as Sri Lankan captain.

Bangladesh would be in great confidence after defeating Sri Lanka in the last ODI and leveling the series. We already said that the Bangladesh team is capable of upsetting any team and they have always been a dangerous side historically. However, few changes in the T20 squad may affect the side. The in-form opener Tamim Iqbal is out due to injury and so is fast bowler Nazmul Hossain. Another opening batsman Anamul Haque will also the miss the match because of his exams. Uncapped right-hand batsman Shamsur Rahman has been named in the squad.

Our Prediction

Sri Lanka is playing at their home which is a big advantage and they also have bowlers like Lasith Malinga and all-rounders like Angelo Matthews who are one of the finest in this format. However, Bangladesh team would also try their best to win this game as well and with the confidence on their side and history of unexpected wins, they may not be an easy bunny for Sri Lankan side. However, we would hope that the rain does not interfere in this contest. Therefore, my vote goes to Sri Lanka and for me they are the favorites to win this game.
