Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders – Match 12 – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

After their thumping victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last match, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) take on the defending IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The match will be played at RCB home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Thursday April 11, 2013 at 4 PM IST. There is another match later in the evening which is between Pune Warriors India and Rajasthan Royals.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

RCB won their last game in style and took a sweet revenge against Sunrisers Hyderabad after they had lost the match in super over in an earlier game against them. RCB skipper Virat Kohli was in top form as he smashed 93 off just 47 deliveries which is a strike rate of almost 200. He had been getting starts but this he ensured that he takes the team to the victory. Infact Virat is the second highest run scorer of current IPL edition as of now. Gayle played well in the first match but since then has not been in the best of the form. In the bowling department, RP Singh bowled superbly in the last match taking 3 crucial wickets at crucial moments. Vinay Kumar and Muralitharan have also been good and have been taking wickets. The team is now picking up well as a unit and the players are picking up their form at the right time.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

The IPL 5 defending champions KKR started the current IPL in style by winning against the mighty Delhi Daredevils but they lost their last game against Rajasthan Royals. The batting of KKR seems to be heavily relying on their skipper Gautam Gambhir who has played superbly in both matches till now. But the other batsmen such as Jacques Kallis, Yusuf Pathan, Manoj Tiwari have not been performing and so this is a cause of concern for the team. The good news is that Eion Morgan came in form in the last match and was infact the only player who was looking to take the team to victory. He scored 51 off 38 balls but got out in the end. In bowling, Sunil Naraine has been among the leading wicket takers and among the most economical in the current edition till now. Other bowlers, Kallis, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Brett Lee have been decent but little expensive at times.

Our Prediction

RCB would like to continue their winning streak and they are in just superb form. Their captain is leading from the front and playing at their home ground would give them a big boost to the chance of winning the match. On the other hand KKR needs to pick up their game and will have to try really hard to win against the in-form opposition. The bowling of KKR has been pretty good and they have been successful in restricting the opposition to less than 150 in both their games. But the batting needs to click so that they can chase the target or set up a big score in this match which will give them a chance to win the game. KKR is capable of bouncing back and although RCB is playing at home, somehow we feel that KKR would go all out and try to win this game and so for us the favorite in this game is KKR.

Winner: Kolkata Knight Riders, 2.10 @ William Hill
