Rajasthan Royals (RR)

RR has played superbly in this IPL and has been among the most consistent team under the leadership of “The Wall” Rahul Dravid.

The batting has been superb with top three batsmen, Rahul Dravid, Ajinkya Rahane and Shane Watson featuring in the top 15 run getters of this season. Watson has scored the most for the team with 513 runs from just 14 matches and at a healthy strike rate of 143. Rahane and Dravid have also scored 449 and 416 runs respectively and have given good starts to the team. Stuart Binny and Sanju Samson have been a find of the season and have played well in critical situations. Brad Hodge has been equally good.

The bowling has also been superb with James Faulkner leading the wicket table with 26 wickets so far in this season. Infact he has taken two times 5-wickets in this season and that too against SH only. Kevon Cooper has also picked 17 wickets from 12 matches. Shane Watson seems fully fit and so he also started bowling again and he has bowled superbly with 11 wickets under his belt with an economy of just 6.66. Other bowlers have lent a good support to the main bowlers and have bowled decently.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SH)

SH has been a surprise inclusion in the play-offs and have managed to surpass Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The batting was initially considered as little weak but with inclusion of Shikhar Dhawan and Darren Sammy in the squad and Parthiv Patel coming in form has given a required solidity to the batting lineup. Parthiv has been the top scorer for the team with 293 runs from 12 matches and Dhawan has already amassed 278 runs from just 9 matches. Other batsmen, Hanuma Vihari, Thisara Perera, Cameron White and Darren Sammy have also been good and scored runs at crucial moments.

The bowling has always been the biggest asset of the team and they have not disappointed at all. Amit Mishra has taken the most wickets for the team which is 20 from 16 matches at an economy of 6.51. All rounder Thisara Perera, Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma have also been superb with 51 wickets among them and the economy of the Steyn is just 5.65.

Our Prediction

RR has been consistent and SH has been the underdogs of the season. RR would be very hurt with recent spot fixing allegations on some of its players and they would like to go all out and show that they are capable of winning games on their own and would like to lift the morale of the team. SH has surprised many as this being their debut of sorts and what performances they have given and they would like to continue the winning touch. However we feel RR is slightly a better team and has a slight edge over SH and so they should win this match.
