Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore – Match 40 – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

After an emphatic win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous home outing, Rajasthan Royals (RR) take on the second placed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in match 40 of IPL 6 to be played on Monday April 29, 2013. The match will be played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur at 4 PM IST. There is another game later in the day which is between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab.

Rajasthan Royals (RR)

RR would be pretty high on confidence after a superb win in the last match against Sunrsiers Hyderabad. The batting has been superb with Shane Watson leading from the front and he has scored 273 runs in just six matches played till now in this season. Rahul Dravid has led the side superbly and he himself has contributed with the bat when required. Ajinkya Rahane has also been in superb form and he also has scored more than 200 runs already. The other batsmen have performed when required and have been decent. The bowling has been exteremely superb and it was pretty evident in the last match when they took first six wickets of Hyderabad for just 29 runs. The real revelation has been James Faulkner who not only became the first bowler in this IPL season to take five wickets in a match but also is the highest wicket taker till now with 16 wickets from just six games and at a decent economy. Siddharth Trivedi and Ajit Chandalia have also been superb with decent economy rates with later having an economy of under 6 from 5 matches played till now. The other bowlers have been at par and a little expensive at times.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

RCB lost their last game miserably against Mumbai Indians after having played so well and having won five matches in a row and being at the top of the table for a brief period. Chris Gayle is the highest run scorer of this season will now with 450 runs in nine matches and highest score of 175 not out. Virat Kohli has also been superb and has scored 334 runs and is among the top five run getters in this season. AB De Villiers has also been superb and has performed whenever required. The other batsmen, Tilakratne Dilshan, Saurabh Tiwari, Abhinav Mukund have not performed yet and have been a big disappointment. The bowling has been good overall wit Vinay Kumar having taken 14 wickets from nine matches played and is at the fifth position in the most wickets takers list in this season. RP Singh and Ravi Rampaul have also been superb and have taken wickets at regular intervals in almost every match. Jaidev Unadkat has also been decent but has not taken much wickets till now.

Our Prediction

RCB is a strong team and is better placed than RR but it is clearly visible that their batting is very much dependent on the terrific trio of Gayle, Kohli and De Villiers which means that if the three get out early there is a chance that the team may not be able to score big which was evident in the last match against Mumbai Indians. Also RCB has lost all their three away matches played till now. RR has shown class in their performance and has shown that they are capable of beating any team especially when they are playing at their home. Therefore we believe RR should win this crucial match.
