Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians – Match 23 – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

Two of the top three teams in IPL 6 will take on each other in an exciting contest coming up on Wednesday April 17, 2013. Third placed Rajasthan Royals (RR) take on the second placed Mumbai Indians (MI) in at former’s home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur at 8 PM IST. There is another game on the earlier in the day which is between Pune Warriors India and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rajasthan Royals (RR)

RR has been among the underdogs always but they have been the most consistent team that performs in every IPL and as of now also they have been doing pretty well. The team will be very happy with the performance of two of their finest batsmen, skipper Rahul Dravid and Ajunkya Rahane who have been making runs consistently and at a good pace. Shane Watson is also back and he also seems to be picking up form and can be dangerous. Stuart Binny and Brad Hodge have also performed but need to be consistent in the middle order to handle the death overs batting. The bowling department is in good form with almost every bowler picking up wickets at regular intervals. Sreesanth and Siddharth Trivedi have been superb picking up 2 wickets each in last match against Kings XI Punjab and with an economy of under 6. Ajit Chandila came back in the side and though he didn’t get any wickets, he bowled fantastic giving away just 14 runs in 3 overs. Overall the side has been good and is playing well as a unit.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

MI would be high on confidence having won their last three matches continuously and losing just first game. Sachin Tendulkar played superbly in the last match against Pune Warriors India scoring 44 of just 29 balls. Ricky Ponting is due for a big one and he is just one match away from doing so. Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma have been batting superb and are among the top run scorers of current IPL. In the last match also, both played amazingly with Karthik making 41 of 29 and Rohit Sharma scoring yet another half century and remaining unbeaten at 62 of just 32 balls. Keiron Pollard has contributed when given an opportunity. The bowlers have also done a decent job till now with Mitchell Johnson taking three wickets in the last match. Lasitha Malinga, Harbhajan Singh and Pollard have been also good and economical and taking wickets regularly.

Our Prediction

Both the teams have won 3 out of 4 games played and MI is above RR because of better Net Run Rate. RR is playing at their home and so they would be trying their best to win this game and replace MI to get into the second position or even top the table. They are playing well as a unit but the middle order needs to be consistent. MI has been superb with literally no flaws and just perfect in all their departments. They have the players who can turn around the match anytime and their batsmen are capable of demolishing any opposition in the world. Though there is very little to choose from the two sides and the game is expected to be yet another nail biting one, we would go with MI to win this match and continue their winning form.
