Pune Warriors India vs Sunrisers Hyderabad – Match 22 – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

The eight placed Pune Warriors India (PWI) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SH) who are placed in the forth position in match 22 of IPL 6. The match will be played at PWI’s home ground, Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune on Wednesday April 17, 2013 at 4 PM IST. There is another match later during the day which is between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians.

Pune Warriors India (PWI)

PWI may be at the second position in the league table right now but they won their last match superbly against the mighty two time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings and that too on their home ground. The win is all the more special since two of the main players of the team did not play in the match. The skipper Angelo Matthews and Yuvraj Singh did not play and so Ross Taylor was the stand in captain for the side. The openers again got to a good start with Robin Utthapa and Aaron Finch playing superbly and the later going on to make yet another half century. The biggest surprise and the positive for PWI was the inclusion of Steve Smith and he delivered what he is capable of. He made an electrifying 39 of just 16 balls with a strike rate of almost 244. Ross Taylor still has not performed to his potential and he is due of his performance. Bowling was also superb in last match with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar taking 2 wickets and giving away just 12 runs in 4 overs. Ashok Dinda also came back strongly with 2 wickets and giving away 34 runs in 4 overs as compared to 63 in earlier match with no wickets.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SH)

SH has been playing superbly and has been among the most consistent team in this IPL. They have won 3 matches out of 5 played till now. However their last match was not so good having lost by a big margin of 48 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The batting has not been among the best except for Cameron White and Thisara Perera who have been decent but need to play long to help their team win the matches. SH skipper Kumara Sangakkara has failed to perform and needs to deliver soon. The bowling is the biggest asset of SH and the attack is led by some great fast bowling of Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma and spin bowling of Amit Mishra. But if their bowling fails, the team looks a little weak and so it is more reliant on its bowling performance.

Our Prediction

SH would be high on confidence with the way the team is playing and considering that they have beaten stronger teams till now. They would again expect their bowlers to do the job and expecting batsmen to perform this time to win the matches more comfortable and so they would like to take this opportunity to win against not so strong team PWI. On the other hand, PWI would be very high on the confidence after their superb show against CSK and they would like to get more consistent and win more matches to prove themselves and move up the table. According to us SH should win this match inspite of the fact that they are playing away from home as they are much more consistent and a better side till now.
