Pune Warriors India (PWI) which is at the bottom of the table play their another home game against yet another mighty team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after their last match against Chennai Super Kings. The match 46 will be played Thursday May 2, 2013 at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium Pune at 8 PM IST. PWI has won just 2 matches out of 10 played and RCB has won 6 out of 10 and is placed second currently. There is another match earlier during the day which is between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab.

Pune Warriors India (PWI)

PWI has been in a very bad form having lost eight matches out of ten played by them so far. The batting has been saved by the top order with Aaron Finch leading from the front as a skipper and as a batsman. He has scored 281 runs from 8 matches and is among top 10 batsmen of the tournament currently. Robin Utthappa has got starts in almost all matches but has not been able to convert which is evident from the fact that he has scored 214 runs from 10 matches but not scored a single half century. Yuvraj Singh has disappointed and is hurting the team as he is not getting runs after getting some decent starts. Steve Smith and Luke Wright have played their roles when required but too much is left to then till the end to perform. Abhishek Nayar is also out of form. The biggest problem of the team is its bowling which has not performed inspite of having Allan Donald as the bowling coach. Ashok Dinda may be the highest wicket taker for the team till now with 10 wickets but his economy is among the highest at 9.64 and has been awful in the death overs. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Rahul Sharma have been decent with 8 and 9 wickets at an economy or around 6 respectively. Yuvraj has bowled when required and no other bowlers have stood out to help the team win the match.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

RCB has played well and is at second position currently. The batting has been superb with Chris Gayle being the highest run maker with 484 runs till now in this season. His strike rate is also among the best at around 166 with 34 sixes already hit in the tournament. Skipper Virat Kohli has also been superb with 366 runs and at third position currently. AB de Villiers has also scored 201 runs from 8 matches at a strike rate of around 150. But the team has been too reliant on these three and the other batsmen such as Abhinav Mukund, Saurabh Tiwary, Moises Henriques have been a disappointment and not being able to handle the team if the above in form trio get out early. The bowling has been superb though with Vinay Kumar and RP Singh paced at fourth and sixth position with 15 and 12 wickets respectively. Ravi Rampaul has also been good with 10 wickets from just 6 matches at an economy of less than 7. Jaidev Unadkat has performed in patches.

Our Prediction

RCB has lost all their away matches played till now in this season and they would take this chance to make their record better and win a match after continuous two losses in last two matches. PWI is at the bottom and they can just think of improving and going and doing all that they could as they have nothing to lose. RCB is our favorite to win this match.
