Pune Warriors India vs Mumbai Indians – Match 58 – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

Out of the play-off spot and last in the table currently Pune Warriors India (PWI) play their yet another home game against yet another mighty team Mumbai Indians (MI). The match 58 will be played on Saturday May 11, 2013 at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium Pune at 4 PM IST. PWI has won just 2 matches out of 13 played and MI is placed at third in the table and has won 8 out of 12 matches played so far. There is another match later during the day which is between Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Pune Warriors India (PWI)

There is nothing much that can be said about PWI as they are at the bottom of the table in this season and continue their bad form from last year. The opening pair of PWI, Robin Utthappa and skipper Aaron Finch, have played some good cricket and are the only players who have scored consistently till now in the season for the team. Their contribution to the team in terms of runs can be judged from the fact that these are the only two batsmen who have scored more than 300 runs each and the next is Yuvraj Singh with 172 runs from 10 games. No other batsmen have been able to leave a mark including Yuvraj and they have performed in bits and pieces which has hurt the team. The bowling has been equally disappointing with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar being the only bowler with 12 wickets and decent economy of 6.61. Ashok Dinda has also picked 12 wickets but he has been very expensive and has an economy of almost 10. Other bowlers have been below par and have not given the required support inspite of having Allan Donald as their bowling coach.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

MI is at the third place currently and would be high on confidence with their clinical win over Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous game by 65 runs. Sachin Tendulkar looks to have gained some form and has been getting starts from past few matches and the good news is that in the last match he top scored with 48 and was even given Man of the Match for this. Dwayne Smith has also been in good touch with 263 runs from just 8 matches played. The highlight of the team have been the new skipper Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik who have scored 430 and 388 runs respectively and are among the top run getters this season. Other batsmen have played their roles when required most of the times. The bowling department has also been good with deadly combination of Aussie pacer Mitchell Johnson and Sri Lankan pacer Lasitha Malinga opening the bowling. While the former has taken 17 wickets till now, the later has conceded runs at an economy of just around 6. The spinner duo of Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha has also been equally successful with 16 and 14 wickets respectively and having an economy of under 7.

Our Prediction

PWI has been really disappointing and it would be a big ask from them to defeat their such a strong opponent even when they are playing at their home. On the other hand MI would like to consider this as a best chance to win this match and try to move closer to play-off and would not like to leave things to the last moment. MI is our clear favorite for this match and they should win easily.
