Pune Warriors India vs Kings XI Punjab – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

The fever of IPL has just begun and there is already lot of excitement around and there have been couple of matches that have gone down the wire confirming to be an unpredictable format of the game. First weekend of the season and there are two matches on Sunday, April 7, 2013. First one is between Pune Warriors India (PWI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to be played at Subrata Roy Sahara stadium, Pune at 4 PM IST. This would be the first match of KXIP for the season and PWI has already played against the season debutants Sunrisers Hyderabad. The other match of the day is between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Pune Warriors India (PWI)

PWI’s start to the season was not very good as they lost the first match against the debutants Sunrisers Hyderabad. The worrying factor is that the total to chase was not very big and still the team could not chase the same inspite of some of the biggest names such as Yuvraj Singh, Ross Taylor, Angelo Matthews and Robin Uthappa in the side. The bowlers have done pretty decent in the game but the batsmen failed to deliver. Infact opener Manish Pandey scored just 15 runs of 29 balls with no boundaries which added to the pressure to other batsmen and the team got all out for just 104 runs.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)

KXIP would play their first match of the season and the side is led by the Australian wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchrist. The team has not been in the best of the forms and could not make it to even semi finals except for the first season in 2008. The team has some good players like David Hussey, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Shaun Marsh, Praveen Kumar, Piyush Chawla, Azhar Mahmood. But the team has not clicked as a unit and the players are long due to fire and they will look to do so in this season.

Our Prediction

KXIP is certainly not really a side which can threaten the other teams. They are infact very much reliant on the performance of their captain and once they get the start their winning chances increase else the team looks pretty weak. KXIP needs to work really hard to beat the sides and enter the playoffs. On the other hand, PWI has also been not in the best of the form but this match would be just a right opportunity for them to give a shot in their arm by winning this match and getting the confidence back. Also PWI is playing at their home and that would give them some edge over the KXIP side. According to us, PWI should emerge as winner of this match.
