Pakistan vs Sri Lanka – 2nd T20 match – Bilateral series – Betting Predictions and Tips

The second and the last T20 international match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played on December 13, 2013. The match is a day-night match and will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium which is a neutral venue in Dubai. The match will commence at 8 PM local time and 9 PM IST. Pakistan won the first T20 and so lead the series 1-0.

Pakistan has been in superb form after they beat South Africa recently comprehensively and now they carry their form with a win over Sri Lanka in the first T20 match played a couple of days back. Batting second, Pakistan had to chase 146 from 20 overs which can be said is not a very big target but against an effective bowling side. Sharjeel Khan as an opener played well with 34 runs from 31 balls and was supported well by all-rounder and skipper Mohammed Hafeez who made 32 from just 27 balls. The middle order failed to click and in the end it looked like they may not win the match. But Shahid Afridi did some explosive batting and remained not out on 39 from just 20 balls. Lot would be expected from him in this match as well. Umar Akmal is also a fine batsman but did not click in the first match.

Pakistan is a good bowling side but in the last T20 their key bowlers took a beating and not-so-key bowlers managed to keep the scored down. The most experienced pace bowler in the side currently is Sohail Tanveer and so it is expected from him to lead from the front and he did so in the first T20 with 2 wickets but gave away 34 runs from 4 overs. Other key bowler Saeed Ajmal who is also the world-class off-spinner gave away 35 runs and took 2 wickets. It was Afridi and Hafeez who contained the bowlers with some good bowling and so they would be expected to do the same in this match as well.

Sri Lanka (SL)

Sri Lanka team has some good hitters in the side and so there is no reason why they should not be able to score big. But they did not click in the first match and so the team could manage to score just 145 runs and that too with just 5 wickets down. Dilshan and Kumara Sangakkara are the key and most experienced batsmen and lot would be expected from them to deliver in this match as they did not do very well in the last match as well. Skipper Dinesh Chandimal got to a start but could not go on and so he will also be expected to lead from the front and make a big score. All rounder Angelo Matthews played superb innings with the only half century of the match from just 34 balls.

The team has some good bowlers as well and the first name that comes to the mind is Lasitha Malinga. He bowled superbly taking 3 wickets and gave away just 26 runs from 4 overs. Ajantha Mendis is another good bowler and he along with Angelo Matthews would be expected to play the role of experienced bowlers and take the attack.

Our Prediction

Overall both the sides seem to be well balanced but Pakistan having won the first T20 match have an upper hand and they seems to be the favorite for this match as well. But we can surely expect this to be a close contest.
