Pakistan vs South Africa – 4th ODI – Betting Predictions and Tips

After a scintillating third ODI, thanks to Shahid Afridi for his quick-fire 88, the teams now move on to Durban to play fourth and decisive ODI to be played on March 21, 2013. In a nail-biting yet an easy game for South Africa, their batsmen proved to be better than those of Pakistan and their bowlers just managed to sneak in to stem the run flow and pick important wickets just when they were required. Since both the teams have balanced bowling attack, pitch has not made any difference so far in the series, and it looks no different in the upcoming game. We are having some success with our online cricket betting as of late, let us hope that we can continue with that!

South Africa

The Proteas have already cleared their intentions, that is, to go for nothing less than a win. In both the matches they’ve won, it has been their batting which misfired. They’d miss Du Plessis in the upcoming game, but inclusion of Quinton de Cock would provide stability to the batting order. Fabulous form of AB de Villiers and excellent power hitters mixed with someone like Amla provides balance to the team’s batting lineup. Steyn is in excellent form and their other bowlers need to support him better.

Pakistan

Pakistan has always been an unpredictable side, and this series as not been any different. After losing the last Test series terribly and then bouncing back in T20 takes some mindset. In addition to that, they almost chased down an impossible looking target in the last game. But, batting is Pakistan’s Achilles heel; they’ve always had bowlers to get other team out, but trusting their batting is like trusting a burglar. The saddest part for them is that even their bowlers have not performed well in the series except Irfan and Junaid. To add salt to the injury, Mohammad Irfan is likely to sit outside due to stomach ache and Sohail Tanvir is called in as backup. Pakistan has a balanced side, but it definitely takes something to beat a rampant African side.

Our Prediction

It has been an even contest in the series thus far and it is expected to be yet another cracker of a game. Can South Africa wrap up the series result in this game? It is possible, and it is more probable of the two options. Durban has been a good hunting ground for home team and they’ve played well in the series so far. Pakistan is an unpredictable side and they weren’t that good in the only game they won. I’d go with South Africa for this game.

Winner: South Africa, 1.57 @ William Hill

It’s difficult to predict about a player’s performance, but considering the form AB is in, it is likely that he’d hit the 52 point mark with his batting only. Furthermore, his excellent fielding and keeping skills can get him more points, making the following bet a well-priced one.

Player Performance, AB de Villiers: 52 and over, 1.83 @ Bet365
