New Zealand vs India – 4th ODI India Tour of New Zealand 2013-14 – Betting Predictions and Tips

The fourth ODI between the hosts New Zealand and India will be played on January 28, 2014. The match will be played at Hamilton and will start at 6.20 AM IST. The hosts lead the 5-match series 2-0 with the last match was a nail-biting tie match. India will have to ensure that they win this match in order to keep the series alive.

New Zealand (NZ)

The team has a good mix of experienced players and young talent and obviously they are playing at their home is also a big advantage for them. In terms of batting, opener Jesse Ryder has not yet clicked and has not been able to convert his starts and he will look to improvise on that. Martin Guptill looks to be in good touch having scored a superb century in the last match. Ross Taylor would like to use his experience and ensure that he gets a big score for the team which is due for quite some time now. Corey Anderson has been a great find for the team and more often than not he has been playing blitzkrieg innings to help the side reach a good total. Skipper and dashing batsman Brendon McCullum and his brother Nathan are also yet to fire especially the former as Brendon has now got two ducks in last two matches.

In bowling, clearly Mitchell McClenaghan has been leading from the front with terrific bowling show and wickets at regular intervals. He has been well supported by Tim Southee who is an experienced campaigner in the side. All other bowlers have been decent and will look to support the lead bowlers.

India

India would be pretty disappointed with their performance especially when the stats show that they have been the top ODI team for quite some time. Talking about batting, the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan has not managed to give a start which they are capable of and have got out early which has put pressure on the middle order batsman. On the other hand, Virat Kohli has been splendid with already one century and half century under his belt in the three matches played here and lot would be again dependent on him this time as well. Suresh Raina has been a big disappointment and it has been ages since he has even scored a 50 and so there would be a lot of pressure on him to deliver else his position may be in danger. Captain cool MS Dhoni has been terrific as usual and has tried to take the team closer to the targets but have got out on crucial moments. However the surprise package in the last match was Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin as they both went on to more than 120 runs in just around 90 balls and managed to score half centuries as well.

The bowling has been awful though Shami has taken the maximum wickets but has been quite expensive and has not got the required support from other bowlers. The spinners have also not been among the wickets and they would also be expected to do their bit so that they can restrict NZ at a decent score.

Our Prediction

Surely this match is going to be interesting and we can expect a cracker of a match to take place. Somehow with India managing to tie the last match, they seem to be better placed and seem to have a slight advantage. So according to us India should win this match and keep the series alive.
