Mumbai Indians vs Pune Warriors India – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

IPL 6 will see the first encounter between the two cities of the same state Maharashtra this weekend. Mumbai Indians (MI) will play Pune Warriors India (PWI) at former’s home ground Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday April 13, 2013 at 4 PM IST. There is another game on the same day which is between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore which means that we can expect lots of fire crackers happening this weekend.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

Pune Warriors India (PWI)

PWI may not be as strong as MI or have such high confidence as their counterpart, but nevertheless a victory can work wonders for anyone. PWI ended their draught and won the last game against the in-form Rajasthan Royals after disappointing performances in their first two matches. Their batting in the last match was superb with both openers giving a solid start to the team and scored more than 60 runs in first 6 overs. Robin Utthapa made a quick-fire 32 and Aaron Finch scored stable 64 off 53 balls by anchoring the innings and this enabled Yuvraj Singh to settle and play the natural game and then went on to finish the match in style and remaining unbeaten on 28 runs. Their bowlers especially Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Ashok Dinda and Rahul Sharma have performed quite well and have been taking wickets when required. Again Yuvraj Singh has done a superb job with wickets being taken by him at regular intervals and also bowling economically.

Our Prediction

MI has gelled well as a unit and is in the top form currently with almost everyone giving superb performances except for the openers. If the openers come to the party, there is no stopping the team from getting any score and we can expect it to happen in this match as PWI is not among the most dangerous opposition and also MI is playing at its home ground. On the other hand PWI would go all out to win this game to prove that their victory was not just a fluke and that the team can do it again and again. Infact PWI had won the last encounter between the two that was played in the last IPL season. But still our favorite is MI for the simple reason is that they are a better team and playing at their home.
