Melbourne Stars vs Hobart Hurricanes – 28th T20 match – KFC Twenty20 Big Bash 2013-14 – Betting Predictions and Tips

The 28th match of the KFC Australian Big Bash League will take place between the Melbourne Stars and Hobart Hurricanes. The T20 match will be played on January 21, 2014 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and will commence at 7.40 PM local time. Melbourne Stars have not lost a single match in this series whereas Hobart Hurricanes is currently at the fifth position having won 2 out of 6 games in this season.

Melbourne Stars (MS)

MS has been in the top form and is the only team that has not lost a single match in the Big Bash league this season. Led by Cameron White, the batting has been splendid and the skipper has led from the front with 197 runs this season. He has opened along with Luke Wright with latter scoring 210 runs till now which shows that the opening partnership has been most crucial to the team’s success. The batting lineup consist of some great players like David Hussey, Glenn Maxwell, Brad Hodge, Matthew Wade, etc which means that even if the openers do not perform there is enough backup that will be able to give team the required boost and can score or achieve almost any target.

Talking about bowling, team has one of the best T20 bowlers of the world, Lasitha Malinga and he has bowled pretty well in this season as well. To support him there is James Faulkner and he is in top form with not only ball but also with bat and could be a great support as an all rounder to the team. Other bowlers would be mostly playing a support role and we can expect quite a few balls hitting the stumps with such top class bowlers in the same.

Hobart Hurricanes (HH)

HH have not been in the best of the form and have managed to win just two games which means they are at the fifth position after having won the last game. Led by Tim Paine, he has not been in the best of the forms and has managed to score not even 100 runs in the series so far and this has been a great concern for the team. The highest run scorer for the team has been Travis Birt and he has managed to score just over 100 runs which shows that the batting has not been in the best so far. The team has some big names such as Owais Shah and Shoaib Malik in the middle order with ample experience but they are yet to click and lot would depend on them to deliver of what they are capable of.

Talking about the bowling department also, the team does not have any big name except for Xavier Doherty but he is already out of the squad as he has been called by the national team for the matches. Ben Laughlin has been the best bowler for the team and lot would again depend on him to lead from the front and deliver for the team.

Our Prediction

Clearly MS has an upper hand and though they have already qualified for the semis, they would still like to win this match and maintain their number one spot and remain unbeaten. On the other hand, HH could only hope that MS have a bad day and they manage to pull something unexpected and give a fight to such a strong team.

Clearly MS is our favourite to win this match.
