Kolkata Knight Riders vs Pune Warriors India – Match 65 – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

As we enter the last week of the IPL 6, and teams playing their last couple of matches this week to fight for play-offs spot, the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on last placed Pune Warriors India (PWI) in match 65. The match will be played at the KKR’s second home Jharkhand State Cricket Association International Stadium on May 15, 2013 at 4 PM IST. KKR is currently at seventh position with just six wins out of 14 matches played and PWI is last with just two wins in 14 matches. There is another match later during the day which is between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

KKR would be high on confidence after winning over one of the strongest teams Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last match. The batting has been decent with the skipper Gautam Gambhir leading from the front with 384 runs out of 14 matches though off lately he has not clicked in quite a few matches. Eion Morgan has also been superb and has placed some terrific knocks and scored 298 runs from 13 matches. South African all rounder Jacques Kallis may not be in the best of the form but he has still managed to score 286 runs and taken 15 wickets who is second to Sunil Naraine for the team. Yusuf Pathan, Manoj Tiwari, Debrata Das have been a big let down. Bowling has been led by Naraine with 22 wickets from 14 matches and he is currently topping the bowling chart. Rajat Bhatia and L. Balaji have been decent with 11 wickets each.

Pune Warriors India (PWI)

There is nothing much that can be said about PWI as they are at the bottom of the table in this season and continue their bad form from last year. In batting their opening pair has been in good form with Robin Utthappa scoring 385 runs from 14 matches and skipper Aaron Finch scoring 356 runs from 12 matches. But other than these two no other batsmen has been really able to make a mark and so the team has suffered heavily. Lot was expected from Yuvraj Singh but he got starts but could not convert into big scores. Other batsmen have been good in patches but no one is really completely reliable and have been quite inconsistent. Bowling has also been a major let down for PWI with Ashok Dinda going at an economy of almost 10 though he has taken maximum wickets for PWI. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is the only exception who has been economical and consistent with 12 wickets and economy of 6.59. no other bowler has managed to create an impact and so the opposition have managed to even chase big targets set by PWI.

Our Prediction

KKR are the defending champions and they will like to win this match so that they will not only get the moral boost but also hope for a slim chance of making it to play-offs if they manage to win their next match as well. PWI has been really disappointing and they would go all out to win this match and save some grace and try to play party spoiler if they manage to win this. But the ground is a very difficult one as we saw in the last KKR game and PWI will have to adjust quickly if they have to make an impact. KKR is the clear favorite and should win this match.
