India vs Zimbabwe – 5th ODI Bilateral series – Betting Tips and Predictions

The fifth and the final ODI between the Zimbabwe and India in the 5-match bilateral ODI series will be played on Saturday August 3, 2013. The match will be played at Queens Sports Club Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and will begin at 12.30 PM IST. India has already won the series with 4-0 and would be looking for the whitewash.

The Indian team has played superbly in the entire tournament in all departments in spite of the fact that the key players have been rested. The batting has been brilliant and led by the stand-in captain Virat Kohli who has amassed 199 runs from 3 matches (did not get chance to bat in the last match). He is also the top scored of the series with Shikhar Dhawan close next with 168 runs. Rohit Sharma who lacked the sting till the last match came good with 64 runs. Suresh Raina also played well in the last match with 65 runs from just 71 balls. Ambati Rayadu is also in decent form but did not get chance to bat in last match. However Dinesh Karthik has not clicked in the entire series and this probably would be the last chance to make a mark.

The bowling has also been good though the opposition does not have the best of the batsmen but still the credit goes to every bowler for tight bowling. Amit Mishra has been the pick of the bowlers and has till now taken most 12 wickets in the series. Jaidev Unadkat is the next best bowler with 7 wickets from 4 matches. Ravindra Jadeja bowled well in the last match and took 2 wickets for just 28 runs in 9 overs. He has been the most economical bowler in the series. Mohit Sharma got chance in the last match and he managed to take wickets and gave away just 26 runs with 3 maidens in the spell of 10 overs.

The performance by the hosts has been quite disappointing and though they do not have big player to boast, the least was expected was to put up a fight. There is nothing really speaking that would stand out in batting and bowling departments both. In terms of batting, E Chigumbura has top scored for the team with 142 runs from 4 matches with V Sibanda and Sikandar Raza with 113 and 110 runs following next. No other batsman has managed to score more than 100. The bowling has been even more disappointing with BV Vitori, TL Chatara and P Utseya having taken 3 wickets each which is the top for the team.

Our Prediction

The team would have only one aim as of now – whitewash. With 4-0 already, it would not e very difficult the way the team is performing and even the bench strength has proved superb and taken maximum use of the opportunity. Cheteshwar Pujara got a chance in last match but did not do much whereas Ajinkya Rahane can be given a chance in this match but it would be difficult to select who should be out. Jammu & Kashmir’s Parvez Rasool definitely deserves a chance and may be this match should help him get that.

If we talk about the hosts, well nothing much except for the fact that should put in all efforts to stand for their pride and ensure that they do not let Indian team win this match.

India is the clear favorite to win this match and make it clean sweep over Zimbabwe. Even though the odds are low, we believe that it should be a good valuebet. They are winning this match more than 11 out of 12 times, so the return is more than good enough in our opinion.
