India vs Zimbabwe – 2nd ODI Bilateral series – Betting Tips and Predictions

The second ODI between the hosts Zimbabwe and India in the 5-match bilateral ODI series will be played on July 26, 2013 Friday. The match will be played at the Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe and will begin at 12.30 PM IST. India lead the series 1-0.

India

Though the Indian is a depleted version of what we have seen in the past with some of the key players including the captain MS Dhoni being rested, the team looked solid in all departments and continued it winning streak winning the first ODI against Zimbabwe in style. The batting was superb and was led by the captain of this team Virat Kohli. In fact he became the youngest player to score 15 tons in the ODI. Other player who impressed was Ambati Rayadu who scored unbeaten 63 in his debut match and took the full advantage of the chance that he got. The openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan failed to click in last match but both are in superb form and they will surely not stay without scoring for long. However Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik have been going through rough patches and need to score runs to stay in the team.

In terms of bowling, Amit Mishra was the pick of the bowlers and picked three crucial wickets and bowled economically too. Ravindra Jadeja was most economical as he gave just 33 runs in 10 overs but did not get any wicket. Vinay Kumar was the most expensive and gave away 57 runs in 9 overs with just 1 wicket. Overall the bowling was good but again in death overs took quite a beating which helped the host score a decent 228.

Zimbabwe

The hosts were never the favorites really speaking for the match and not much was really expected from the team. In terms of batting the opening partnership was the best with 72 runs added and Sikandar Raza went to make 82, the highest score for Zimbabwe in the match, but at a strike rate of 73. The skipper Brandon Taylor who has a good record against India failed to click and got out pretty cheaply. Elton Chigumbura played a superb cameo and scored 43 not out of just 34 balls to help team post 228. In terms of bowling, initially the bowlers bowled well but once Kohli and Rayudu developed partnership, the bowlers got hammered all around the park. However Prosper Utseya was very impressive giving away just 34 runs in 10 overs and picking up 2 crucial wickets as well. The other bowlers were not very great and they would have to work hard if they have to win the match.

Our Prediction

Indian team would be high on morale and would like to continue with the winning streak. The biggest advantage that team has is that the players sitting on the bench are also equally good and given a chance they will show what they are capable of. Obviously the captaincy and the batting form of Kohli both have been outstanding and he has been doing quite well with quite a few records now under his belt.

Zimbabwe really needs to pull their socks if they have to give a fight and their batsmen have to take more responsibility if they have to win the match. Their bowling also needs to be more consistent and perform as a unit.

India continues to be our favorite for this match as well to win this match with not much difficulty.
