India vs West Indies – 1st ODI Bilateral series – Betting Predictions and Tips

After the conclusion of the farewell 2-Test match series between India and West Indies, the two teams will now play three One Day Internationals (ODI) starting Thursday. The first ODI which is a day-night match will be played on November 21 Thursday at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Kochi. The match will start at 1.30 PM IST.

India won the recently concluded test series against West Indies quite comfortably with more than 2 days to spare in each match. Already India is the number one team in the rankings currently and so they would be looking to maintain this position by winning this series as well. Talking about batting, Rohit Sharma will return to the opening slot and he is in terrific for. He has already struck two back-to-back centuries after having debuted in the first test match and has also got the Man of the Series award. Other opener Shikhar Dhawan did not have a good test series though he had a pretty good one day series prior to that and he is also in decent form and would like to continue his run in ODI. Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina return back to the squad and both of them would be looking to make the best use of the chances that they are getting inspite of not so impressive performances recently. Skipper MS Dhoni plays a crucial role everytime when crisis strike or when he gets a chance to bat earlier.

In terms of bowling, India has included Mohit Sharma in place of Ishant Sharma who had a dreadful series against Australia and was pretty expensive. Mohammed Shami also had a good test series and he is expected to get chance in this ODI series as well. Another pacer is R Vinay Kumar also retains his spot inspite of not so impressive show against Australia. R Ashwin had a good ODI and test series with bat and ball both and so he would be also high on confidence. Other spinner could be Ravindra Jadeja who may come back to the squad as he was not selected for the test series.

West Indies (WI)

West Indies team has been dismal in their performance in all departments and now they would like to redeem it by playing some good cricket in ODI. WI has also made some changes in the team and has included Kieran Powell who is expected to open the innings with Chris Gayle. Gayle who is known for his explosive batting did not have a good test series but considering the fact of what is capable of in limited overs cricket, lot would be expected from him. The team has got a big setback as all-rounder Kieron Pollard is out due to injury and so he will not be playing. In terms of bowling, the team will get some fire with fast bowler Ravi Rampaul returning back to the side. Tino Best had a good test series and so the fast bowling is expected to be better in this series, though their ace bowler Kemar Roach will be missed due to injury. Also the spin department will strengthen with off spinner Sunil Naraine also back in the side.

Our Prediction

Clearly India seems to be favorites to win the match but there are chances of rain and so it may happen that we may not get to see the match at all. So let’s hope that we get to see some good cricket and our vote goes for India.
