India vs Sri Lanka, 3rd ODI 2014 – Cricket Betting Tips

India has gained a big 2-0 lead in the 5-match ODI series and they will look to win the series in three matches.  Sri Lanka batsmen failed to get going against a formidable bowling performance from the Indian bowlers. Even captain Matthews was left stranded on 92 and could not go on to score his first century on the tour. Matthews admitted after the match that they were completely outplayed by India in the match. Sri Lanka got off a good start and was looking set for a big score but lost crucial wickets in between. A sensible innings from Matthews saw the put up a decent total but it was nowhere close to a competitive one.

Indian batsmen continue to make merry as the Sri Lankan bowlers have not yet found their rhythm. Sri Lanka cannot hope to win any match if they cannot control the stroke play of the Indian batsmen. Rayudu came up with a fantastic century in the last match to easily hand the win to India. Virat Kohli has also found his form back which is not a good sign for Sri Lanka at all.

Indian bowling has been economical in this series so far as they have not leaked easy runs. Jadeja has been the weak point in bowling so far. Sri Lanka batsmen need to play more cautiously as they have not yet settled to the playing conditions. Sangakkara and Matthews are the in-form batsmen but Mahela Jayawardene needs to show his experience and class in the rest of the matches. The third ODI will be played in Hyderabad and it will most probably be a high scoring one. The team winning the toss will again look to bat second because of the dew factor.

The toss may become crucial as the pitch at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium is highly conducive for batting. Hence, the team batting second definitely has an advantage here. However, Sri Lanka cannot afford to give away too many runs if they bowl first as there is some help for bowlers in the evening. Sri lanka gave away too many runs in the first match and could not make use of the conditions while chasing. They need to bowl with more discipline and restrict the Indian batsmen to somewhere around the 300-mark. 300 should not be difficult to chase in such conditions. India is again the favorite in this match.
