Hobart Hurricanes (HH)

HH have not been in the best of the form but they have made a surprise entry in the finals with some superb performance in last few matches and especially in the semifinals. They outplayed one of the strong contenders of the cup, Melbourne Stars, in all departments in the semi-final match. The team is led by George Bailey and his return has lifted the morale of the team immensely and though he has not been in the best of the batting forms, he would be eager to do well in the final as well. The in-form opener, Ben Dunk has been superb and has been in fact the highest run scorer in the series with 378 runs at a strike rate of 147. The team has some big names in batting such as Owais Shah who plays for England and Shoaib Malik who plays for Pakistan in the middle order with lots of experience in international cricket in this format.

In terms of bowling, Ben Laughlin has been the best bowler for the side with 14 wickets and an economy rate of around 8. Another young bowler in the team that has impressed most is Cameron Boyce with 10 wickets and he took three crucial wickets in the semi final match giving away just 11 runs in three overs. All other bowlers have been decent and Shoaib Malik and Ben Hilfenhaus will be expected to play vital role with the experience that they bring along with them.

Perth Scorchers (PS)

PS has been always among the strong teams since the league started in 2011 and has managed to enter the final in each season. The team is being led by Simon Katich who is also the top scored for the team with 308 runs and second highest run scorer in the series till now. Lot would be dependent on him to deliver in the final as well. Shaun Marsh is another batsman who is capable of hitting big shots. Craig Simmons has been also good with 233 runs but a healthy strike rate of more than 175.

In terms of bowling, they have Brad Hogg who has been among the most successful bowlers in the competition till now. He has however not delivered in the tournament and he would be keen to do well in the final match. Their best bowler has been Yasir Arafat from Pakistan and has taken 12 wickets with an economy of around 7. The team has all-rounders like Alfonso Thomas and Tim Armnstrong and they would be playing a crucial role in the match.

Our Prediction

We can expect cracker of a match to take place as PS would go all out to win the series this time as they know well that the opponent is not very strong for them. On the other hand HH have nothing to lose and they will be more than happy to give a fight and it would be great if they manage to win the final. So our favorite is Perth Scorchers to win the final match of this season.
