Hobart Hurricanes vs Barbados Tridents, Champions League T20 2014 – Cricket Betting Tips

Hoabart Hurricanes are sitting comfortably at the second position in Group B after winning two out of their three matches. Barbados Tridents will be disconsolate after losing in the super over against Cape Cobras. The first century of the tournament by Jonathan Carter went in vain as his side could not manage to pull off a win against the Cobras. Barbados is down in the dumps at the moment having lost two out of two matches. They are pointless and will be knocked out of the tournament if they do not beat Hobart Hurricanes in their next match. This will however, is not such an easy task.

Barbados rode heavily on Carter’s knock and looked well set to deliver their first win but lost the plot due to some listless bowling towards the end. They now face elimination if they do get their act together pretty quickly. Playing without Pollard has been a key problem for Tridents as only a couple of their batsmen have fired so far. The replacement James Franklin has not done enough to even to warrant a place in the side currently. A lot was expected from him in both the bowling and batting department but he has not delivered yet.

Barbados also bowl more tightly in the pace department as the spinners have held their own in the Indian conditions. Pace will not be a worry for Hurricanes so Barbados will have to attack them with spin. Hurricanes lost their only match of the tournament to Punjab but have been otherwise dominant and have not looked like losing at any stage. Punjab spinners were quite effective against them so that should be something Barbados should take notice of. Hurricanes look like having the best chance to move to the semi-finals stage with Punjab.

Hurricanes do not lack in batting or bowling department and the fielding has been top notch throughout the tournament. There are no visible chinks in their armory so it will be very difficult for Barbados to get past them. Bollinger and Hilfenhaus are bowling wonderfully and are not giving away easy runs. But, the real strength for Hurricanes is in their batting with some exceptional performances already coming from the likes of Blizzard, Dunk and Paine. Shoaib Malik is one of the best batsmen and he came good against Northern Districts after a quiet time in the first two games. This will bolster the Hurricanes batting even further. I do not see any reason as to why Hurricanes will not win against Barbados. A win will guarantee a semi-final spot for Hurricanes.
