England vs Australia – 3rd T20 – Ashes Series – Betting Predictions and Tips

The third and the final T20 match between the arch rivals England and Australia will be played on February 2, 2014. The match will be played at Sydney in Australia and will start at 2 PM local time. The hosts have already won the series 2-0 after having won the Ashes test and ODI series on the same tour.

This tour would be probably one of the most dismal tours of England and especially when they are playing their arch rivals Australia and they would like to forget it at the earliest. Having won just one ODI match out of total 12 matches played on the tour (5 tests, 5 ODI and 2 T20 till now), England would be pretty relieved that the dreadful tour of theirs is finally coming to an end with this last T20 match. Talking about batting no batsmen have really managed to put up a fight and as a result of which the team has suffered back to back losses in both matches. Only Ravi Bopara managed to score unbeaten 65 in 1st T20 and Joe Root scored second best 32. In second T20 match, no player couldn’t even manage to score 20 runs except Joe Buttler who managed to score 22 and some fight given by the tailenders. Other batsmen such as Morgan, Luke Wright, Hales, etc have been dismal and they need to up their ante if they have to win this match.

The bowling has been equally woeful as the bowlers could not contain the opposition and in fact could not even get the opposition all out in both the matches till now. Skipper Stuart Broad has picked up just one wicket and has not been economical. No bowler has managed to take even more than 1 wicket in the T20 series till now which shows the poor condition of the bowling of one of the finest cricket teams.

Australia would be very happy with the performance of the team and they could not have asked anything better than this. Led by George Bailey in T20, he has played well with total of 74 runs in 2 matches with one unbeaten half century. Opener Cameron White has been splendid with 133 runs from 2 matches and scored half centuries in both matches and laid the foundation for the team to win the match convincingly. Other opener Aaron Finch has also managed to score one half century and has given good opening stand to the team. The batting has not been exposed much and so the other batsmen have relatively not got a chance to perform.

Bowling has been superb and the best part is that the team is not dependent on just one bowler. Coulter-Nile picked up four wickets in the first T20 and Hazlewood picked up 4 in the second match. Other bowlers have supported well and overall a good bowling unit as they have managed to restrict the opposition to pretty low totals.

Our Prediction

England has already lost the series and the tour has been awful for them. All they could do is play for pride and if they manage to win this match it will boost their morale to some extent.

On the other hand, Australia would like to go for kill and they would try their best to whitewash the opposition.

Therefore we feel that the hosts have an upper hand to win this match and create history with 3-0 whitewash against their favorite arch-rivals of all time.
