Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians – Match 28 – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

Last placed Delhi Daredevils (DD) will take on one of the most powerful teams of this IPL, Mumbai Indians (MI) on this weekend at Super Sunday. The match 28 of IPL 6 will be played at DD home ground, Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, Delhi on April 21, 2013 at 4 PM IST. There is another match later during the day which is between Kings XI Punjab and Pune Warriors India.

Delhi Daredevils (DD)

DD has been in the worst form of their IPL career having lost all six matches played till now and so they are placed at the bottom of the table currently. The biggest problem and worry for the team has been their batting. DD has big names like Virender Sehwag, David Warner and the skipper Mahela Jayawardene but they have failed miserably in the matches played by them till now. Infact in the last match against Chennai Super Kings, DD could make only 83 runs in 17.3 overs chasing a total of 169. The all-rounders like Jeevan Mendis, Johan Botha and Andre Russell have also failed to perform and have not been of much help to the team in either department. The bowlers have also been quite inconsistent and the likes of Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav, Irfan Pathan and Shahbaz Nadeem have performed only in patches. Irfan Pathan seems to be gaining the zip in batting but by the time he comes to bat the match is almost over. Overall DD has not performed as a team in either of the departments.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

MI has been good but not yet given their best and they have also not played to their potential, especially the openers. We said earlier also that MI has got the best openers of the world, Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar, but they have not yet delivered at all. Infact recently there was news on Sachin taking retirement because of the form but later on he rejected the plans of retirement. So there is already lot of pressure on the openers to perform and more when their other lesser experienced players have been batting superbly. Mumbai have been riding on the success of wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik, who is currently second in the highest run-scorers list with 254 runs and Rohit Sharma who has hit two half centuries till now and so far amassed 157 runs with 74 being his highest. Kieron Pollard has been good in patches and Rayadu has not performed much. The bowling has been good with bowlers like Malinga, Mitchell Johnson, Pragyan Ojha, Harbhajan Singh and Pollard taking wickets when required.

Our Prediction

MI has been good but they need to get really better have they have to rule the table or come among top three which will give them a lot of psychological advantage and confidence. In their last match against Rajasthan Royals, MI was dismissed for just 92 runs chasing a target of 180 runs which shows that the team is vulnerable if the score is big and if their middle order does not perform. On the other hand, DD has been really out of place and only a miracle could help the team to come back in form. They will have to go out and win this match if they want to stay in the competition. Though the match is being played at Delhi’s home, MI has an upper hand as it is a stronger team and so they are the favorite to win this match.
