Chennai Super Kings vs Pune Warriors India – Match 19 – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

After having won a superb thriller against Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will now take on Pune Warriors India (PWI). The match 19 of sixth edition of IPL will be played at CSK’s home ground, MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on April 15, 2013 at 8 PM IST. CSK is currently at the fifth position and PWI is on eight.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

CSK held their nerves in the last match which was no less than a dramatic one. The openers are in good form though they did not play well in the mast match and got out cheaply. The middle order is also in good nick with Suresh Raina and Badrinath finally scoring some runs in the last match. The skipper is in a devastating mood right from first match. Dhoni is one such player who is capable of winning the match single handedly. Ravindra Jadeja also played brilliantly in the last match though he had almost got out on the last ball when just 2 runs were required to win. The bowling has been superb with Dark Nannes and Chris Morris leading from the wicket with wickets and economical bowling. Nannes took just one wicket but did fantastic bowling in the death. Chris Morris took three crucial wickets in last match though he was a little expensive. Other bowlers, Ashwin, Jadeja and Bravo have been decent and picked up wickets at regular intervals.

Pune Warriors India (PWI)

PWI has not been in the best of the form and have won just one match out of four played till now and is at second last position in the league. The batting again didn’t click as required and the openers failed to give a start the team required which resulted in pressure on the middle order batsmen. Yuvraj Singh looked good but he could not convert his start into a big one which could have helped the team come closer to victory. Ross Taylor has looked completely out of touch and not performed at all till now. Mitchell Marsh has got starts but he comes too late and so not much is left for him to do. The bowling has also been quite disappointing. In the last match, Ashok Dinda gave 63 runs in his 4 overs which is the highest by any bowler in the entire IPL. Even the other bowlers took a lot of beating in the last match and they would like to improvise a lot on it. The biggest setback for the team is non availability of their captain Angelo Matthews as the match is played in Chennai and so he will not be a part of the game due to ongoing controversy over Sri Lankan players.

Our Prediction

PWI needs to up their ante and have to lots of things to do to match the mighty CSK. The team also has to tackle the new issue of the captaincy as Angelo is not playing and the team has not yet decided who will captain with Yuvraj already decided that he will mostly not. On the other hand, CSK would take it as a good match to win and come in the top 4 in the league. They are playing at their home ground and to beat them there, it would take lot of efforts, hardwork, energy and exceptional cricket for PWI. So for this match, CSK is our clear favorite and they should win this match quite convincingly.
