Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians – IPL 6 – Betting Predictions and Tips

This might be somewhat late putting it up right before they start, but we have yet another exciting contest coming up this weekend, with the match between two time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the powerful Mumbai Indians (MI). This is the second match of the day and at it will be played at M.A.Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on April 6, 2013 at 8 PM IST. The first match on April 6 is between Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals at 4 PM IST. These are among the best of the IPL teams and truly capable of winning the trophy and so it calls for the exciting contest between the two.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Frankly speaking, CSK needs no introduction for its team and the players. CSK is the only team who has won the IPL title consecutively in two years. The biggest asset and the advantage the team is the consistency. The skipper, Mahender Singh Dhoni has been in the top form from past 3-4 months and is in total destructive mode when it comes to his batting. The team also has some of the best finishers like Suresh Raina, Albie Morkel, Dwayne Bravo, Micheal Hussey which no other teams have. Murali Vijay, Ravindra Jadeja and R. Ashwin who were in the top form in the just concluded India-Australia test series are also a part of this side. Infact Vijay was the top run scorer and Ashwin was the top wicket taker of the series.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

MI will be very upset with their loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore. MI had almost won the match after they got a solid start from two of the best batsmen, Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting. But the team lost the way in between and later Dinesh Karthik played superbly to get to the total but got out in the last over. The absence of their ace bowler Lasitha Malinga could be felt and since the match is in Chennai no player from Sri Lanka would be playing there which means he would not play in this match also. This makes their bowling unit a little vulnerable which was evident with the way Chris Gayle slaughtered the bowlers.

Our Prediction

The teams are so strong that it is very difficult to choose among the two. This is one of the most exciting contests and the winner of the match will get a terrific boost in their confidence and would motivate the team and the players to perform even better in their upcoming games. MI has performed superbly in their first match, although they lost it just marginally and surely they are looking to recover quickly from that loss. But when we talk about CSK, we are looking at a fantastic side and almost all of their players are in their top form; and the world knows that it is almost impossible to beat them at their home ground. We can hope that MI may be able to make this possible, but for now, our vote goes strongly in favor of Dhoni’s CSK and for us they are our favorites to win this match.
