In yet another classic encounter of Group B of the ongoing Champions Trophy 2013, confident and consistent India will play against unpredictable West Indies on Tuesday June 11, 2013. The match will be played at the Oval. The match is crucial for both teams as the win will almost make the semifinal berth certain. This is one of our better cricket betting tips, so bet accordingly, but within your means!

India has looked superb and has got off to a good start to the series by defeating South Africa by 26 runs in the first encounter. The batting was solid with the new opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma scoring 127 runs for the first wicket and in fact Rohit made 65 Dhawan went on to make the maiden century. The middle order did not perform as expected especially Dinesh Karthik as he had scored centuries in the warm-up matches. Another highlight of the batting was the cameo played by Jadeja when he scored quickfire 47 of just 29 balls which helped the team to score huge 331 in 50 overs. In terms of bowling, Jadeja was again the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets for 31 runs in 9 overs. The fast bowlers, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma got 2 wickets each but were a little expensive. Ashwin did not get any wicket but bowled well in a high scoring game and gave away just 47 runs in 10 overs.

West Indies (WI)

WI also won their first match though they could have won it more convincingly as they were chasing a small target of 171 set by Pakistan. The batting was not very good and with likes of Chris Gayle, Bravo, Pollard, Sameuls and Sarwan the target could have been achieved easily. Gayle, Sameuls and Pollard were the only players who managed to score 30 or more with top score of 39 by Gayle. None of the other batsmen could impress and failed to take the team to the victory. The bowling unit performed well with Man of the Match Roach taking 3 wickets and giving away just 28 runs in 10 overs. Sunil Naraine also bowled well with 3 wickets and giving just 34 runs in 10 overs. Overall the bowling was good and the team restricted Pakistan to just 170 runs.

Out of the 106 ODIs played between two teams, WI has won 57 and India has won 46. However out of last 12 matches, 9 matches have been by India.

At Oval, the performance of India has not been very good with just 3 wins out of 11 matches played, whereas WI has been superb with 9 wins out of 11 matches.

Our Prediction

India looks in a better position and looks a stronger team on paper as compared to their component. The batting has been in good form and they have scored 300 plus games in all their last three matches played (including two warm-up games).

WI is an unpredictable team and everyone knows what Gayle is capable of. The batting is very strong but quite vulnerable and the batsmen need to click at the right time so that the team can achieve its targets.

Though the history might not be in favour of Indian team and favoring the West Indian side at the Oval, we still believe that they have an upper hand in this match and should be able to win this match to get the top of the table of Group B. Therefore our bet is on India to win this match.
